Crab Hut, nestled in the heart of San Diego, has quickly established itself as a favored spot for seafood lovers. Customers rave about the vibrant atmosphere and exceptional service, often noting the friendly staff who enhance the dining experience. A highlight for many is the seafood boil, particularly the generous one-person bucket that could easily serve two. Patrons have reported that the flavor and freshness truly stand out, with the king crab being particularly praised for its tenderness. The menu is diverse, featuring appealing options like crispy calamari, jambalaya brimming with flavor, and beignets that have become a must-try. The Cajun fries and crab rangoons also receive enthusiastic mentions, complementing the meal beautifully. While some diners have pointed out the higher price point—averaging around $50 for a boil—they agree that the quality justifies the cost. Notably, the automatic 18% service charge has not dampened spirits; rather, guests appreciate the transparency. Overall, whether for a special occasion or a casual outing, Crab Hut promises a delightful experience, combining fresh seafood with a touch of Cajun flair. This restaurant is certainly a gem worth revisiting, especially for those in search of hearty and flavorful seafood in San Diego.

Love love love this place. I’m Indian and I love my spice... this place did not disappoint by any means... this is also my first time having a seafood boil. And it was epic. The service was wonderful... definitely worth the 18% service fee. The beignets are amazing so please make some space for it in yo tummy. The seafood boil, the one person bucket is definitely enough for two people. If you’re ordering a combo boil, do not order an appetiser coz it’s already too heavy. Like you will not be able to finish it. Their portions are wonderfully large and way sufficient for two people. So keep that in mind while ordering. They are on the pricey side, coz their boil cost about 50 minimum... our bill for two people came upto 162 including the 18% tip. And we ordered fish and chips, one bucket boil, two bourbon and ginger ale, one cocktail and the beignets. So order wisely. We had to pack the fish and chips. But they were definitely yummy. Will most definitely come back for more. 3

I recently celebrated my birthday at Crab Hut in San Diego, and I have to say, it was absolutely worth every penny! The experience was unforgettable. I ordered the king crab, and it was cooked to perfection – so tender and flavorful. The service was exceptional as well, with friendly staff who made the night even more special. My kid loved it so much, he’s been asking to go back ever since! If you’re a fan of crab, this is definitely a spot you don’t want to miss. Highly recommend!

LOVE this place! We ended up coming to this place twice during our 10 day vacation in San Diego. Yes, they have the 18% service charge, but the wait staff definitely deserves it. we had a great time, the seafood is so fresh, the calamari is so awesome. The second time we went back we caught them at happy hour, and we took full advantage. We are from the Bay Area, but if we lived in San Diego, we would definitely be regulars. The food is awesome, service was excellent, and the price is very reasonable. Our family had a great time. I loved that the restaurant gave us disposable gloves (the environmental part of me hates this), which kept our hands clean and non-fishy smelling. Hubby's gloves broke both times, but he was busy cracking crab claws for the kids. if we are ever in San Diego again we will definitely be back!

Came to the downtown location for the first time and service was very good, the hostess informed me there is a 18% service fee already added to the bill, I thought that was nice of him to give us the heads up. The seafood boil was good as well as the drink for 2. Crispy calamari and fries is a must and the jambalaya was very flavorful. World definitely come back again.

Our dinner was surprisingly good for a Cajun restaurant in Southern California. The jambalaya was delicious and both soups we ordered were very good. They add an automatic gratuity which I’m usually not thrilled about and typically means I don’t do more math, but our server was beyond excellent and deserved the extra.

The price was a bit expensive. It's almost as if the menu was built around serving 2 people. There's an entree for 1 and then 3-4 people. For my husband and myself- we spent around 320.00 after tip. The do inform you at the door they take out 18% on top of what you're paying for food. That being said- this was the BEST place I have eaten in a while. Being stuck in the desert, we do not have these options. The service was great. I will definitely be coming here again. Next time, I think we will bring a few others to help us because we had to waste about 100.00 worth of food.
